Other ways to talk

The Line

For when life is happening faster than you can think.

A private support window, timed together, giving you direct access to me while an important situation is unfolding. WhatsApp, voice notes and short calls, so you can think something through while it is actually happening.

We agree beforehand when the window begins and ends, how we communicate, and what you need me beside you for.

When it tends to be useful

Some weeks ask more of your judgement than usual.

  • A decision is landing this week and you want to test your thinking before you act.
  • An important conversation is coming up and you would rather not walk in alone.
  • Something is changing at speed: work, family, a relationship, a move.
  • You are carrying something heavy and want one person who already knows the context.
  • You want to say the unedited version out loud before you decide what to do with it.

How it works

We set the window together: when it begins, when it ends, when I am reachable and what response time you can expect. It is a deliberate arrangement, not an open door.

Normally for women I already work with, because close support works best when the context is already there. Availability depends on my capacity.

What it is not

The Line is not an emergency, medical, therapeutic or legal service, and it is not continuous availability. If what you bring needs therapeutic, medical or specialist support, I will say so honestly and help you find the right place for it.

Questions people ask

What is The Line, exactly?

An agreed window of closer access between larger conversations, through WhatsApp, voice notes and short calls. We agree in advance when it runs, when I am reachable and what response time you can expect. It is not continuous availability, and it is not an emergency, medical, therapeutic or legal service.

Can anyone book The Line?

It is normally available after an introduction or previous conversation, because thinking together at short notice works best when the context is already there. Availability also depends on my capacity.

How long does a window last?

Usually a few weeks, shaped around the situation. We set the start and the end together, so it stays a deliberate arrangement rather than an open door.
